Antioch FirstClass® Intranet Server

April 6, 2015

The time has come to address the end of life for the legacy email collaboration system, FirstClass. FirstClass was in use by Antioch University constituents prior to and during the University move to gmail that started in 2009. With the move to gmail employees and new students started using gmail as the University email system. FirstClass has remained available for the alumni who were using it at the time.

In an effort to prolong availability of the service, in August 2012 FirstClass was converted to a virtual server. We are running FirstClass version 9.1, released in December 2007. In July 2015 FirstClass will be at the end of life and unsupported by the software vendor.

Recently we have experienced issues with FirstClass. After many hours of work, the environment was returned to a stable state. Without vendor support, we will no longer be able to provide FirstClass email collaboration services starting July 1, 2015. Access to all accounts will be terminated. If you have any comments or concerns, please let me know.
